About Brian
Brian creates art from the retired implements of an agrarian life and metal rescued from the scrap yard. He knows a thing or two about old farm machinery since he grew up on a dairy farm outside Bath, Michigan.
Although Brian has no formal education in Art, he credits his creativity and sense of design to an eclectic worldview, fostered by backpacking it around the globe after college. He also studied the metal arts under Holly Fisher at the Smart Shop Metal Arts Center in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Brian's mostly whimsical art takes on the personalities of the animals he has encountered and people he has met in life [Brian has a Masters Degree in Social Work and has worked in the field for 19 years]. His art makes you smile, laugh and think.
Brian is a member of the Three Rivers Artists Guild and the Michigan Guild of Artists & Artisans. His work is a staple at many of the juried Fine Art Fairs held each summer throughout the Midwest.
